Did you know that Pilates exercises can help your bones and joints to stay strong and healthy and to reduce your risks of osteoporosis, falls and broken bones?
Bone health and balance class provides a Pilates based exercise programme that helps to safely load the bones using resistance and repitition and is suitable for all ages and fitness levels. This class has a slower and more considerate pace that allows you time to notice your form whilst using hand/ankle weights or exercise bands and aims to educate you on moving safely in activities of daily living too. Standing exercises are a key feature to improve balance and reduce risk of falls. Variations and modifications of exercises are offered so that you can be confident that you feel safe in class.
This class is ideal for anyone with Osteoporosis, Osteopenia or Osteoarthritis as I am qualified to teach and programme Pilates for Bone Health, but also particularly valuable to menopausal women and anyone with hypermobility.
Of course anyone with a specific interest in, or concern about their bone health is welcome!
