My Pilates journey started 15 years ago when i was advised to join a Body Control Pilates class to help to control back pain after the birth of my first son and from then on I became addicted. I couldn't live without it!
I felt that my class each week was like pressing a reset button for my body and conitnued with my classes through my second pregnancy. I became the 'pilates preacher' to friends and family and decided that as I was so passionate about sharing the benefits of Pilates, I should retrain as a body control pilates teacher and qualified in 2013, after 2 years of teacher training. I now teach a variety of matwork classes, pregnancy pilates, bespoke group classes, workshops and one to one personal pilates programmes .
I have a keen interest in pilates for bone and spine health and have a level 3 qualification to teach clients with osteoporosis. In 2017, I qualified as a Back4Good practitioner and now also teach small Healthy Back Pilates classes designed to help clients to manage and prevent lower back pain.
My passion for Pilates has never wavered, in fact its stronger than ever! To be honest, I can not think of anything better to be doing than sharing my pilates knowledge and I absolutely love seeing the difference that Body Control Pilates can make to my clients' quality of life. I genuiely believe that everyone out there would benefit in some way from the power of Body Control Pilates for both mind and body.
As well as holding a level 3 mat qualification in Pilates, my continued professional development includes;
Level 3 qualification in Programming Pregnancy and Postnatal Pilates
Level 3 qualification to teach clients with Osteoporosis and Osteopeania
Qual to teach Intermediate mat Pilates
Back4Good practitioner and Registered Backcare professional with charity Backcare
Level 4 on the register of exercise professionals
Workshops and lectures with physiotherapists and other medical professionals include; Staying Healthy as a Pilates Teacher, Pelvic Floor in Pilates, Pilates for Parkinsons and MS, Hypermobility, Understanding Scoliosis, Back pain and Spine Surgery, Small equipment and many more!
